High School Equivalency Program Orientation

Congratulations on taking this important step toward achieving your academic goals!  Sign up to attend one of our orientations for the High School Equivalency (HSE) Program.  We look forward to seeing you.

About the orientation

At this 4-hour orientation, you will learn more about the TASC and NEDP programs and will be required to take a short, online computer literacy assessment; a multiple-choice English and math placement test, and write a short essay. You must complete all 3 in order to be accepted into the program.

About the program

The HSE Program helps adult learners earn their high school equivalency diploma, issued by the New York State Education Department.  The HSE Program offers two options: the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), which replaced the GED in New York State, and the National External Diploma Program (NEDP). TASC prep classes provide instruction in subject areas and skills required to pass the equivalency exam. NEDP requires that students work independently, in conjunction with advisors and assessors, and demonstrate mastery of specific competencies and skill sets in a number of different content areas. No exam is taken.
