Descriptive Summary:

As healthcare professionals, we are always learning and growing, and the business of healthcare is just as rapidly moving as the clinical foundation.  Documenting the patient’s medical conditions is vital to effective medicine. This 90-minute presentation will review the significance and evolution of the ICD-10-CM diagnostic manual in the American healthcare industry.  We will then discuss the significance of ICD-10-CM coding, including the benefits of complete and accurate coding and the consequences of inaccurate coding.  The presentation will then turn to the changes in codes from 2024 to the new set for 2025.  To reflect on the updated codes, we will then turn to the updates in coding guidelines.  Finally, we will conclude with a question-and-answer session.

This presentation will discuss all other 2025 new codes that you should be aware of. Just as important are the sub code notations seeking clarifications that a coder should know of and pass along to their providers to have the specificity in coding required by the ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT Coding and HCPCS Update codes.

Making sure your practice is aware of these codes is imperative. Changes in the Guidelines for ICD-10-CM can also affect proper coding for your practice and as such reimbursement. We will focus on what will affect your practice day-to-day and what will affect it in unusual circumstances.
