Activity Overview
The goal of this three-hour webinar is to provide dietitians and nutritionists with knowledge and awareness of food-related issues stemming from the COVID pandemic. The webinar will address the regulations implemented to protect workers and consumers of the food industry. The webinar will also describe the additional challenges of obtaining food, and some positive consequences, arising from the response to limit the spread of COVID-19. Participants will begin to devise practical solutions for some of these challenges.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, the participants will be able to:
Outline the various regulations implemented to protect workers and consumers of the food industry and consider their ramifications.
Identify some of the additional challenges of obtaining safe and nutritious food during this pandemic, particularly for more vulnerable populations. Derive practical solutions to some of these challenges.
Outline some positive consequences to food safety arising from the response to limit COVID-19.
