Activity Overview

The goal of this three-hour webinar is to provide dietitians and nutritionists with knowledge and awareness of issues stemming from the COVID pandemic as it relates to food safety. The webinar will address the potential for contamination of food with COVID-19, within the food industry and at home, and present some methods of prevention. The webinar will also describe the negative effects COVID-19 has had on existing programs which monitor food safety.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, the participants will be able to:

  1. Identify how food can become contaminated with COVID-19 within the food industry and how this is being addressed.
  2. Specify some practical approaches for keeping food safe from COVID-19 at home.
  3. Recognize how food safety monitoring systems have been affected by COVID-19.
