Exposure to germs in healthcare facilities can lead to illness in both patients and healthcare professionals.  Environmental services (EVS) in infection prevention and control (IPC) strategies can effectively prevent healthcare-associated infections.  This course includes information on what healthcare facilities are doing to respond to emerging respiratory viruses such as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)

This e-course consists of three 1-hour modules as follows:

Module 1: Basic Principles of IPC, Keeping patients, residents, and healthcare workers safe

Module 2: Chemical Safety, Surface cleaning and disinfection procedures and techniques

Module 3: Reporting Issues to a Supervisor, Accident Prevention and Fire Safety, Patient and Resident Rights and Abuse Prevention

At the end of the training all participants will receive a certificate of completion
